CHARLIE & SHELBY
Are Getting Married
It All Started with a Story
It was New Years Eve 2019 at a party hosted by our good friends, the Sams, and after finding the only two open seats at the dining table Charlie and Shelby sat next to each other. You could say Charlie was excited to get to know Shelby, they had met once a few years prior but the timing wasn’t right for either of them. Charlie thought Shelby was a very impressive woman - having created a successful business all on her own. She was an inspiration to him. Shelby had heard of Charlie’s newly found passion for travel and thought he was extremely handsome. His outlook of life and eye for adventure won her over instantly. The night wasn’t over before they planned their first multi-state ski trip together from Utah to Wyoming.
“…3, 2, 1, Happy new year!” they counted down until their first kiss. It was now the first of January 2020 and they knew this year would be special, this year would be full of new adventures together, this year would be the first chapter of the rest of their lives, this year would be - COVID 19.
Shelby and Charlie could not have reconnected at a better time. As the country shut down, they fell in love. They were both able to spend as much time together as they wanted and they never wanted to be apart. They would work their remote jobs from each other’s living room couch and realized this was something they wanted to get used to, so they went into business together. It started with a small flower shop in Lemon Grove that held strong during the pandemic, when events and travel were virtually non-existent. As the world crawled back to normal and borders began to reopen, they decided to move on from the San Diego flower shop and work together on the business that Shelby had built over the previous 10 years —Simply Classic Events & Travel. This was something they could do from anywhere and for that reason they sold most of their belongings besides a few suitcases and some items in a small storage unit, prepared their two pups for an international flight and made the move to the enchanting island of Cozumel, Mexico - Where they hope you will join them for a well deserved weekend with family, friends, crystal clear water and white sandy beaches while
they say "I Do".
