When Brooke and Arasp imagined their destination wedding in Cancun, Mexico, they dreamed of sunshine, ocean views, and a celebration surrounded by family and friends. What they didn’t anticipate was a Category 1 hurricane making an unexpected appearance on their wedding day. With winds over 70 mph and heavy rain, many couples would have panicked. But thanks to their trust in Simply Classic Events & Travels, their wedding was nothing short of spectacular. While the storm raged outside, our team worked tirelessly behind the scenes to adjust every detail — allowing Brooke, Arasp, and their loved ones to relax, sip champagne, and enjoy the day without a hint of worry. Planning for the Unexpected... Like, A Hurricane Wedding Success Story!!! Destination weddings are magical, but even the most carefully planned events face unpredictable weather. On the morning of Brooke and Arasp’s wedding, we woke up to hurricane-force winds. With outdoor venues no longer an option, we immediately activated our emergency weather plan, something we build into every wedding we plan. Our immediate action plan included

-Relocating the ceremony and reception to Dreams Natura’s covered "hallway" this isnt ,a normal space used for events but we didn't want all moments to be held in the ball room so we thought on our toes and created a little magic!!

- Redesigning the ENTIRE wedding setup in just a few hours... and i mean EVERYTHING from florals to lighting, draping and installations, ensuring every detail still reflected their original vision.

-Coordinating with resort staff, vendors, and our team and ALL the guest to adjust the timeline, move decor indoors, and set up the ceremony and reception spaces flawlessly. We pushed the ceremony back abiut 45 to let the winds die down. this made it a bit more comfortable for everyone!

The ceremony was intimate & Heartfelt and OH so beautiful, though they’d originally planned for a beachfront ceremony, we created a beautiful back up ceremony design with and elevated S shaped aisle way, lush bold floral arrangements in the most beautiful colors. The couple exchanged vows surrounded by all of their family and friends while romantic lighting and a soft rain set a warm, inviting tone. The emotional ceremony reminded everyone that love conquers all... even hurricanes!

Cocktail Hour was a champagne filled celebration, while guests enjoyed a champagne toast and passed hors d’oeuvres, the Dreams Natura staff worked closely with our team to ensure the ballroom was flawlessly set for the reception. Guest grabed their custom marraccaand made their way to their seat but not before stopping to have a dance before making their way to their seats. Despite the weather, spirits were high, and the celebration continued with laughter and heartfelt speeches while guest enjoyed their dinner.

The reception was a stunning indoor celebration... our team created an elegant ballroom transformation worthy of a magazine feature. We infused the space with and extra lush floral ceiling instalation over the dance floor with dico balls and deep greens to complement Brooke and Arasp’s colorfulland bold wedding style. The couple’s custom neon sign with their last name hung above their sweethearts table, making for the perfect photo moment. Twinkling string lights and candles added a romantic glow, transforming the ballroom into a warm, intimate oasis despite the storm outside. Signature cocktails flowed, and guests dined on a gourmet menu that showcased the best of Mexican-Caribbean cuisine, featuring fresh seafood, tropical fruits, and local delicacies. Before dinner began Brooke and Arasp shared a heartfelt and spicy first dance, a moment of pure love amid the whirlwind of the day.

These party animals kept the party going and dancing the night away! B + A have a best friend who is an epic Dj in NYC and he grace the decks for the after party!! As the wedding reception came to a wrap we supprised guest with a private after party in the hotels spa... Sounds craxy right? This spa was redesigned and looks as if you are in a cenotcave.. We call it the Rave Cave, and you can host your after party until 3am !! Let's just say the Dj kept the dance floor packed all night long...while the winds howled outside, the energy indoors was electric. Guests were escorted to the cave from the ball room with an "Hora Loca" and celebrated with lots of tequila shots, epic beats and late-night snacks to keep the party going until the early hours of the morning!
