NICK + SARA

It All Started with a Story 

On May 20th, 2017, Sara was getting ready to go out for a friend's birthday, while Nick had just spent his first 24 hours in Kansas City. Little did they both know that this night would be the start of a lifelong journey. Nick was in town for a birthday weekend; an excuse to get together with his college friends and spend a weekend on the lake. Sara had been planning for night out on the town with her friends. Now knowing both friend groups, it’s just short of a miracle that they were able to evade their friends long enough to strike up a conversation.

After some intermittent snapchats throughout the summer, Nick suggested they move to a more formal method of communicating, texting. Soon a constant stream of messages back and forth lead Sara to bring up the idea of going on a date. Great idea. But how do you plan a date when one person lives in New Jersey and the other in Kansas? Ultimately it was decided Nick would come back to KC on October 13th, 2017 for his first date with Sara. A long weekend of eats, conversations, laughs, and Nick’s first Chiefs game would turn into a monthly date either in KC or the Northeast.

Fast forward 2 years (1.5 years too long for Sara), October 12, 2019, they were moving Nick into his new apartment in KC. This lead to more consistent dates, parties, and getting to learn each other when living in the same city. Then came a house and two poodles, Vivian and Vincenzo and the rest is history!
